The black vine weevil (Otiorhynchus sulcatus) is a common pest on more than 100 plant species such as yew, rhododendron, cherry laurel and privet, but also on strawberries and roses. The main damage is caused by its larvae. The nematode species Heterorhabditis bacteriophora and Heterorhabditis downesi specialise in black vine weevil larvae, among other things, and can use them for their own feeding and reproduction.
